Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Welcome to Feedhood. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Feedhood ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Feedhood mobile app and feedhood.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Read them in full before you sign up. If you don't agree, don't use Feedhood.
1. What Feedhood is
Feedhood is a hyperlocal marketplace that connects three types of users:
- Buyers, people who order food.
- Feeders, home cooks, restaurants, bakers, farmers, and meal-prep services who sell food.
- Drivers, people who deliver orders from feeders to buyers.
Feedhood is a technology platform. We do not cook, prepare, handle, or deliver food. Feeders are independent sellers; drivers are independent contractors; buyers are customers of the feeder, not of Feedhood.
We do not charge commission to feeders, drivers, or buyers. Optional donations at checkout fund the platform.
2. Your account
Eligibility
You must be 13 or older to use Feedhood. To sell food (feeder) or deliver (driver) you must be 18 or older and legally permitted to sell food or provide delivery services where you live.
Account info
Keep your password secret. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@feedhood.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person
One account per individual or business entity. Sharing accounts is not allowed.
3. For buyers
Placing orders
When you place an order, you enter a contract directly with the feeder. Feedhood facilitates the transaction but is not a party to it. The feeder is responsible for the food itself.
Payment
You pay through Stripe. We do not store your card number. Authorization happens when you place the order; the charge is captured when the feeder accepts.
Cancellations + refunds
You can cancel an order until the feeder accepts. After acceptance, cancellation depends on the order's status:
- Before "preparing": typically a full refund.
- After "preparing": no automatic refund (the food is being made).
- If your order is wrong or doesn't arrive: contact the feeder first; if unresolved within 24 hours, email hello@feedhood.app and we'll mediate.
Food safety + allergens
Feeders are responsible for accurate ingredient + allergen information. If you have a severe allergy, message the feeder BEFORE ordering to confirm cross-contact precautions. Feedhood is not liable for allergic reactions caused by misrepresented or cross-contaminated food.
Donations
The donation at checkout is voluntary and non-refundable. It funds the Feedhood platform (servers, support, processing fees).
4. For feeders
Eligibility + verification
Food rules differ from city to city and country to country. You are responsible for knowing and following every food-safety, licensing, business-registration, and tax rule that applies where you cook and sell — including any home-kitchen or cottage-food regulations.
A food-safety certificate is not required to register on Feedhood. When you upload a valid food-safety certificate or permit for your area, a green ✓ badge appears on your listing so buyers can see your certification status at a glance. Where your local rules require a certificate or permit to sell food, you must hold one regardless of whether the badge is shown.
Your menu + descriptions
You must accurately describe every dish, including ingredients, allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, etc.), and dietary tags. Buyers rely on this information. Misrepresentation can lead to account suspension and may make you personally liable for harm.
Order fulfillment
When you accept an order, you commit to preparing it as ordered, on time, and to the standard you've represented. Repeated late or cancelled orders may result in lower visibility or account suspension.
Payouts
Feedhood charges 0% commission. You receive 100% of what the buyer paid for food. Stripe's standard payment-processing fees come out of your payout, we don't add anything on top.
Payouts arrive a few business days after order completion, via Stripe. You are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes on your earnings under the laws that apply to you. Feedhood does not withhold taxes or file tax forms on your behalf.
What you may not sell
Alcohol, cannabis or other controlled substances, raw/unpasteurized milk, anything that needs a licence or permit you don't hold, and anything illegal where you operate.
5. For drivers
Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor, NOT an employee of Feedhood. We do not withhold taxes, provide benefits, or guarantee minimum earnings. You set your own hours and may decline any delivery.
Requirements
- A valid driver's licence for your area, plus insurance that covers commercial / delivery use.
- A vehicle in safe operating condition.
- Smartphone with GPS.
- Legal right to work where you deliver.
Earnings
You receive 100% of the delivery fee paid by the buyer. Tips (when added) go 100% to you.
Conduct
Treat buyers and feeders with respect. Drive safely. Don't tamper with orders. Repeated complaints will result in account suspension.
6. Dine-in — eating at a feeder's place
Dine-in lets a buyer reserve a seat to eat in person at a feeder's location — a restaurant table, or a home cook hosting guests at home ("private dining"). It is a direct, in-person arrangement between the buyer and the feeder.
Feedhood only makes the introduction
For dine-in, Feedhood does nothing more than help a buyer and a feeder find each other and reserve a time. We are not present and we do not host, supervise, inspect, or control any dine-in meal, location, or interaction. Everything that happens at a dine-in — the food, the premises, the conduct of the people there, and your personal safety — is solely between the buyer and the feeder.
Private home dining is at your own risk
If you host or attend a meal at a private home, you do so entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Feedhood is not responsible or liable for anything arising from a dine-in, including food safety or allergic reactions, illness or injury, accidents or property damage, theft or loss, harassment or other misconduct, or any dispute between a buyer and a feeder.
Feeders hosting dine-in
You are responsible for the safety and legality of your premises and for complying with all applicable laws (zoning, occupancy, insurance, home-business, and food-safety rules), and you should carry your own appropriate insurance. Where your local rules treat private home dining as exempt from commercial food-safety licensing, that exemption is between you and your local authorities and transfers no responsibility to Feedhood.
Buyers attending dine-in
Use the same judgement you'd use meeting anyone in person. Confirm allergens with the feeder before you go, share your plans with someone you trust, and leave if you feel unsafe. By booking a dine-in you accept these risks.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use Feedhood for anything illegal under any law that applies to you.
- Post fake reviews, manipulate ratings, or otherwise game the marketplace.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service.
- Bypass our payment system (e.g. by encouraging buyers to pay you directly off-platform, feeders, this includes you).
- Create multiple accounts, impersonate another user, or transfer your account.
Violations may result in immediate account termination.
8. Intellectual property
Feedhood, the Feedhood logo, and the platform code are our property. You may not use them outside of normal app use without written permission.
Content you upload (photos, descriptions, reviews) remains yours, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use it for operating and promoting the service (e.g. showing your dish photo on the public feeder page).
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Feedhood disclaims all warranties (express or implied), including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy of food descriptions, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any food sold by feeders. Those are the feeder's responsibility.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Feedhood's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in donations in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, food poisoning (which is the feeder's responsibility), data loss, or personal injury.
Note: in some jurisdictions limits like this don't apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct. We're not trying to disclaim liability for those.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Feedhood against any claim arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms. Feeders specifically indemnify us against any claim of foodborne illness, allergic reaction, or other food-related harm caused by food they prepared.
12. Termination
You can stop using Feedhood at any time. You can delete your account from Profile → Delete my account. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Privacy, IP, Disclaimers, Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law) survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Feedhood after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing law + disputes
Feedhood is operated from British Columbia, Canada. These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles, and any dispute with Feedhood will be resolved in the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Nothing in these Terms removes any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer-protection laws that apply where you live.
